The Art of Listening, Beyond Forest Bathing

Where Mindful Walking Meets the Living Intelligence of Nature

Beyond Forest Bathing is a guided nature immersion inspired by the forests of Japan, Australia, and the Carolinas. Through mindful walking, water-listening meditation, and shared stories that reveal the forest’s living energy, this experience creates a space for presence, reflection, and connection, culminating in a grounding tea ceremony.

Origins & Inspiration

Inspired by Deborah’s travels and time spent in Japan, as well as years living immersed in the Australian hinterland, this experience goes beyond traditional forest bathing. Rooted in the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, it brings together landscapes, cultures, and lived experience, now held within the ancient forests of the Carolinas.

The Art of Listening & Meditation

You are invited to slow your pace, open your awareness, and step into the forest with presence and attention to Mother Nature’s language.

At the heart of this experience is listening—not as a method, but as a way of being. Deborah’s relationship with nature has been shaped by long periods of quiet observation and conversations with wildlife, including morning tea with magpies. These encounters are gently woven into the walk, reflecting how the natural world responds when we pause and begin to listen.

Through mindful walking, water-listening meditation, and the forest’s living energy, these sacred moments bring a calm inner peace that opens your senses, makes time to feel your heartbeat, and creates space for relaxation.

Tea Ceremony & Integration

Deborah closes the journey with a simple tea ceremony and light snacks, offering time to settle, reflect, and integrate what’s been felt. This last pause allows the senses to come together naturally, completing the arc of the walk with warmth, stillness, and connection.

Join me beneath the trees, beside the water, and within the quiet language of nature, where presence is awakened.
